Motion 2 Assignment: PBS Salish Word Of The Week

In my Motion 2 class, PBS had reached out to the Design Advisor and teacher of our class. They were paired with the local Salish School of Spokane and were looking for students interested in helping build animations for PBS' Salish Word Of The Week to help in the revitalization of the language.
The process was long and grueling as we worked with PBS as best we could. Each student claimed a word and helped each other in setting up a consistent style and structure for each of our animations.

I did a fair bit of research trying to look for adequate font types, color palettes, style guidelines (specifically from PBS), as well as trying to understand more about the word I was animating for.
The first thing we all tried to build was our own intros. Mine was animated with the audio beats of PBS' "Word Of The Week". My intro was not the selected one, but I was still quite proud of it.

As the end of the quarter was reached, we all had more information and guidelines to follow. Using the intro made by one of the other students and utilizing some backgrounds made by another, we all created our own separate animations using the similar pieces to maintain consistency amongst all the animations.
My animation used some free asset animal noises in the back ground of the provided audio assets by PBS.
Over all, I truly wish I had more time to put into it. We only had a single week to build the animation and plan it out once the files were finally collected. The biggest change I'd make is the actual motion of the animals themselves. Perhaps even have some background motion with tree swaying and flowing wind.
